St. Barts

Famous for being the retreat of the rich and famous, this sexy and sophisticated island is better known as "St. Barths". For all its fame, however, this tiny jewel-like island still retains its charm and special allure. One of the reasons for its magic is its intrinsic Frenchness - from the early morning fragrance of fresh croissants in the capital, Gustavia, and the many outdoor cafes, to the chic designer boutiques and exquisite food.

Perhaps one of the toughest decisions you will have to make on your holiday is where to dine - there are more than 60 restaurants serving gourmet cuisine. Although nudity is officially banned, topless bathing is almost de rigeur on St. Barts' many beautiful beaches. But remember that the real beauty of St. Barts comes not from the hype of its famous visitors but from the faces and manners of a people for whom honesty and dignity are a way of life and who will welcome you to share your holiday with them.
